Hello, church family!

We hope that you were able to join us this past Sunday for the beginning of the new message series “Things The Bible Doesn’t Say.”  If you weren’t able to be with us, we greatly encourage you to listen to the fist sermon here and continue to join us for the next two weeks.

Beginning in October, we will be engaging in a very exciting church-wide spiritual growth campaign called TRANSFORMED, an 8 week strategy exploring how God changes us from the inside out.  We will engage what the Bible has to say about every essential area of our lives:  Spiritual, Physical, Mental, Emotional, Relational, Financial, and Vocational.  In order to get there, many aspects of our daily church life will be integrated into this campaign; from the Sunday messages to Student and Kids ministries, Life Groups, personal devotions, Scripture memorizations, etc.

We are praying and expecting great things to be done in the lives of our church family as we dive into God’s word together in our new Life Groups for this campaign.  Please sign up in the lobby after the Sunday gatherings to join an 8-week Life Group.

On Sunday, September 20, at the conclusion of each worship gathering, all church members 18 years and older are invited to vote on the land purchase proposal as presented by Pastor Brian on September 13.  Voting ballots will be available at the end of the worship gatherings in the foyer.

We are kicking off our fall plan for families and we want parents of K through 12th graders to be involved!  That’s why we are inviting you to come and meet your child’s or student’s small group leader and be in the loop of some important information for the fall.

Stop by the church auditorium Sunday, September 20, any time between 2:00 to 3:30 pm… you won’t want to miss this!

Are you looking to become a member or want more information regarding our church?  Join us at our Gospel Partnership class on Wednesday, September 23, from 6:00 to 8:30 pm in the South Lake Kids building.  This class explores the mission and purpose, explains the strategy and structure, and tells the story of the “what and why” of The Church at South Lake.  After completing the class, you will be given the opportunity to join the church family by signing a membership covenant.

We will provide dinner, but please note that there is no childcare for this class.  Click HERE to sign up.  Completion of this class is required for church membership.

Baby Dedication is a joyful opportunity for parents to recognize that their children are gifts from God and to make a commitment to raise them to Love God, Love Others, and Live with Purpose.  This is also a time where the church body can support families and commit to partner with them in raising children who are followers of Christ.

The next Baby Dedication is on October 18 at 3:00 pm.  If you are interested in having your child(ren) dedicated, please pick up an information packet at the Connect Desk on Sunday.  You will need to complete some steps outlined there, and then come prepared to a Parent Meeting onOctober 4 at 11:00 am in the South Lake Kids building.

The Miles for Meals 5K & Fun Run is an event benefiting our Buses n’ Backpacks ministry, which is a weekly effort to feed children who are afflicted by poverty and homelessness in Lake County.  The 5K race is professionally organized on a sanctioned and certified course, with official timing monitored by disposable chips.  After the race there will be activities for the whole family at the Waterfront Park.

We are so excited that the new 6:00 PM worship gathering is serving individuals and families that would not have otherwise been able to attend church.  Additionally, we praise God in that he continues to bring us new families to our morning services, to the point that we are running out of room!  This is a wonderful difficulty we are facing!

Given this blessed challenge, if you attend the morning services, we invite you to consider trying out the 6:00 PM service instead.  Some people have already switched and they love their new schedule! This way we can together open room in the morning gatherings for the many new families in Clermont who continue to join our church.  Together we can serve them and meet their need for the gospel and for a Godly community.
