Life Groups_logoWe are convinced that life change happens best in small groups, where people can experience and process life together in community with others. To us, groups are not merely a program or an event. They are about incorporating discipleship into the flow of our everyday lives by sharing life with others. It is where the thoughts, concepts and ideas taught in the large environments like Sunday morning worship gatherings take on flesh and blood and are applied in our daily lives. It is a vehicle for learning and also for putting into practice the things that we learn.

WHAT ARE LIFE GROUPS?

At their core, life groups are casual gatherings of 8-12 people, typically meeting at a group members home, for the purpose of growing together and learning how to love God, love others and live with purpose. But to those who have experienced the benefits of a life group, they are so much more. Life groups are a place to know and be known, love and be loved, serve and be served. We have women’s groups, men’s groups, singles groups, couples groups and groups that are open to anyone (general groups). Most of these are divided by the overall stage of life of the group members. Every group has a unique feel and personality and finding the right one for you can be life changing. If you are concerned about childcare expense, we can help. HOW DO I FIND THE RIGHT GROUP?

  • GroupLink – This is an 1 ½ hour event where you come to connect with people in your same stage of life and/or area of town to join or form a Life Group.
  • Check the Directory – We try to provide and updated small groups directory both online and at the Connect Desk in the church foyer
  • Relationships – Ask some people you already know about the small group that they are in. Personal relationships are always the most popular way to find a group and get connected

LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

Our life group coaches, leaders and apprentice leaders are part of the core leadership of our church. They are Bible teachers, discussion facilitators, care providers, fellowship coordinators and spiritual mentors. But, first and foremost, they are servants. Scripture teaches us that to be a leader in the kingdom of God, we must seek to be a servant to all (Mark 10:42-45). So, if you are looking for a high-profile position with lots of perks, this probably isn’t for you. But, if you desire to open up your life and teach others to do the same, if you have a passion to see people grow in their knowledge and love for Christ, and if you are ready for a truly challenging and tremendously rewarding task, then I would love to sit and talk with you about life group leadership. You can contact Pastor Don at the church office or by email for more information on leadership opportunities. Email
